DOOMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo

My Apologies again for the lack of updates, my buildings internet has been rather inconstant and this is the 3rd time I'm trying to upload this entry.

Truly a meal fit for a king, the bento box embodies my perfect meal. If I had to have a last meal it would be a bento. I love a little bit of everything; so many things to taste that go together so well. This time it was from a local place that’s known for its amazing lunch special. The place is called Domo sushi and its very affordable stuff. So the bento includes: Soup, Salad, Shu mai, the entree in this case Tonkatsu, some rice, a California roll, some nigiri sushi and finally some melon. All of this for about $17. That’s a really good deal if you ask me!

The salad was cold and crunchy not too much going on, I like that. Just a cucumber and lettuce served with some different miso dressing. It was creamier and a little less intense then the usual thick strong miso dressing.

The soup was the usual fare nothing spectacular but nothing terrible either. Warm and soothing with some slight scallion flavor.

The sushi by all means was good and a traditional variety. Toro (Tuna), Sake (Salmon) and Hamachi (Yellowtail). All were fresh and the cuts were well done. I’m not a gigantic California roll fan, but ill eat it if it’s presented as a combo or someone can’t finish theirs. It was good but then again how can you mess it up.

So then we have the shu mai, little vegetable dumplings covered in a light broth. There nice to have with something, almost a pseudo appetizer. They were juicy but a little chewy. Then we come to the Tonkatsu (pork cutlet). Cutlets are undoubtedly my favorite food ever. Just something about the crusty outside and the juicy inside that makes me fall in love. This particular cutlet was cut into thin strips as per usual for Japanese cutlets. It’s served with Tonkatsu sauce, named so because it compliments the dish it’s served with. It’s like a steak sauce, but it’s got a lot of vegetable and fruit elements. Its got to have worshecer.....worchester....woahfh whatever the hell you call it sauce in it too, tons of ingredients working together and complimenting the crispy pork perfectly. Nice and thick I keep a nice big bottle at home to use on just about everything. Lastly as a desert of sorts I got a little bit of melon. It’s refreshing and cools down my pallet after such a complex meal. It rounds it out and ends it well.

Strangely enough after a bento I'm always perfectly full. It delights my mind to even think about one now.
