Junk Food?

Fridays Mozzerella Sticks, White Castles and a cat. Tasty snacks that I've allways relied on to give me that quick snack fix. They can either be microwaved or toasted, but not together. The mozzerella sticks are better in the toaster while the white castles are better in the microwave.
The mozzerella sticks are a pretty close counterpart to that of the original, however the white castles have a completley diffrent taste. Both are pretty mediocre, but they fill that junk hunger that I can get sometimes. Not much else to say, I'd reccomend them!

Who hasn't had these!?! A better snack then the afformentioned. Great any way you cook em! As long as you let them cool you'll be fine. If you cant wait beware... The lava mouth you'll get is unbearable. Completley seared, you wont taste anything for days. Get these if you havent tried them!

Ah Acacia We Meet Once More

:D

Ahh.... Once again I find myself lucky enough to go back here! Much like last time the tasting menu had to be chosen. It's very different from the last time, so lets take a look!

First Course: New England Lobster Roll, Chinese Chicken Skewer w/ Wakame Seaweed Salad, Sonoma Valley Chevere Tart w/ Dried Fig, Hazelnut Oil, White Balsamic and Cherry Reduction. I started with the tart because I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. Not being a fan of figs or cherry as I am, I thought this was fantastic. So many different flavors being brought together and countering each other. The sweet cherry and fig paired up with the tart vinegar and cheese. Coherent and addicting, I moved on. The chicken skewer had a sweet caramelized flavor and a certain degree of heat to it. Very simple, but effective. The seaweed salad helped to cool it off and honestly was just executed very well. I'm a fan of the lobster roll, this one lived up to all of the rest. It wasn't anything extravagant, just an added bit of chive puree, however this one seemed more elegant then the others I've had. It wasn't too chunky nor was there too much mayo. The bun was slightly toasted as it should be. Something oddly superior here, I cant quite place it. An excellent first course, whats next?

Second Course: Dry Aged New York Strip Steak w/Cafe d'Paris Butter, Pork Lion(Rarw,it's supposed loin but the menu said differently)w/ Fuji Apple-Chipotle Chutney, Grilled swordfish w/ Avocado Butter and Orzo Salad. The second course was meaty! I started with the steak. Incredibly tender, the aging was evident. It was slightly peppered to give it bite, but it was cooked so perfectly that the rareness offset the pepper. The butter was a nice touch as well. It was served on top of a mini potato gratin that was perfection. I had high hopes for the pork, they stumbled and fell. The pork was overcooked and a little too burnt. Actually it was a lot of burnt, I got a little taste of cigarettes and that was nasty. The apple chipotle chutney was heavenly spicy and sweet I loved it. I could defiantly seen how it would go great with the pork, but the pork just wasn't up to the challenge. Lastly a first for me; swordfish. It was as I expected, very thick and meaty. Not cooked all the way through and it had great flavor. The avocado butter sweetened the deal, I ADORE avocado! The orzo salad was very minimal but was addicting, I think it went well with the bold flavor of the fish. 2 for 3 Isn't bad at all. Desert was calling my name.

Desert: Chocolate Vodoo Cake, Dulce De Leche Sundae, Strawberry Short Cake. This is a good looking desert! Dulce De Leche has to be my second favorite flavor of ice cream. Such a great creamy flavor go try it! Next was the chocolate vodoo cake and it was fantastic. That is until I hit the rasinettes and coffee beans. I hate rasinettes and coffee beans, so I just picked it apart. It was paired with a rasbery sauce, it always goes with chocolate. The crystallized sugar knives ontop were a nice touch too. Lastly the strawberry short cake, which wasn't so much short cake as it was short bread cookies. I liked that, it changed it up, surprised me and i liked it! Perfect sweetness and fresh strawberries. The only thing you can strike against it was that it was hard to eat. The cookies crumbled a little to much, but that was negligible.
Don't you think all desert should be served with a spoon like this? Deep and rectangular, I love it!

A great meal once more! I thank you guys for taking me there, nothing can make me happier then a good meal!

More to come soon!

2 Months

Wow. All I can say is finals. In this break I realized that I'm very fixed on what I order to places I frequent. I honestly haven't eaten anything new up until now. Lots of home cooked food! So now I'm going to try new things, that is .... Ill try to try! Also I might start doing fast food and snacks ect, just because I'll have More to post.

At the moment I'm back in Arizona! This was the first new thing I have eaten since APRIL 22nd!!

Thats right, AIRLINE FOOD! OH NOOOES! Actually this is the perfect snack for a flight and my favorite kind of meal! I was taken by surprise, I was expecting peanuts or something. This was a baby turkey sandwich, a bag of fritos, a Hershey bar and some light mayo. These were all supermarket items, so there wasn't anything to complain about. Though the fritos had a weird fishy smell, tasted fine though. I liked this a lot, it calmed me down, and made my long day of flights a little more bearable.

More to come soon!
