First really cold day of october

Today was the first really cold day this month. I love it so much; the cold is a friend to me. The smell in the air; you knew it was fall. It was a really busy day; I was surprised I got to eat at all. Let’s get into it!

Today I decided to taste the bourbon chicken at the Chinese joint in the union. People say it’s pretty good so I went to test their word. I wasn’t pleased. The chicken meat itself was good. Tender and full of the sauce that it was served with. The taste was good; it had a lot of components to it. The thing that got me about it was the texture of the sauce. It was very oily, almost as if it wasn’t mixed well. Secondly it had clumps in it; you can see this in the picture to the right. Not a bad taste at all, but the sauce deterred me.

I got it with some sauteed bean sprouts, which I'm a big fan of. These were crunchy and had a very natural flavor. It was accompanied by shards of carrots and some string beans. Slightly salty in a good way too. Nothing bad to say at all about these sprouts.

Dinner was a strange strange thing. The label said Japanese veg chicken sandwich. I thought that it meant vegetable and chicken sandwich. But in reality it was a vegetarian chicken sandwich. What I got was to-chicken (Tofu-chicken). My first encounter, it didn’t taste like chicken but it was good. The sandwich itself is an experience was very weird. Teriyaki sauce very chewy doughy bread, fake chicken and flat veggies. I have to say it was really really good; I was surprised more then ever. The tastes melded well, the sauce was perhaps too strong. A very very weird sandwich. Flat, sort of fermented flavors (probably due to tofu). I liked it a lot, an interesting take on a sandwich. I broadened my tastes today and really that makes it all worth it in the end
